"I am truly grateful for my creative practice of Intentional Creativity because I ALWAYS have a 'go to' to create transformation for myself."
~Shiloh Sophia, co-founder Intentional Creativity
You are invited to come together in community for creative exploration of how we hold our experience of feeling at home within ourselves and in the world. Using inquiry as a doorway, we will discover how long held beliefs can keep us in patterns of experience that no longer serve us. From there, we tap what is possible when we choose to write a new story and see it come to life on the paper/canvas as a means of fostering fearless belonging in our lives.
What the world needs now is more of us taking deep, tender loving care of ourselves every day, and bringing that transformational healing energy of wellness and love into the world. Joining together in creative exploration with the intention of healing aspects of our experience that are available to be explored is a way to create and share the energy of belonging that becomes an offering to the Earth and all of her inhabitants.
Creative process, not product
Of course, when we create anything -- from a doodle in a notebook, to a feast for 20 -- we want the outcome to be amazing. The surprise is that when we create from process, releasing our expectations of how a creation turns out, the meaning and intention behind it weaves into the final product in a way that imbues it with a captivating magic all its own. This is the space we will inhabit in this process.
Supplies
What we require for our time together*:
- canvas (16x20 is a good size but choose what feels fun. Inexpensive canvases can be found at Michaels, often in a 2-pack for less than $10)
- acrylic paints, 3-5 colors of your choice (acrylic craft paints can be found at Michaels or Target and run about $2.50 per bottle. 3 colors is fine, 5 would allow more flexibility. Let your heart choose!)
- paint brushes of different sizes (these are often available as a student pack of different sizes and styles, also at Michaels or Target, for less than $10)
- a pencil and pen; markers (one Sharpie if you have it)
- a journal or notebook
- a jar or cup for rinse water
- something delicious to sip on, chocolate, and a candle (or the like) to more deeply engage our process
- a piece of red thread (or a string of any kind) that we will use to honor our connection
- optional: glitter 🙂
*if a canvas and acrylic paints aren't available, a heavier piece of paper (mixed media, watercolor, or cardstock of any size) and watercolors, crayons, or markers will work as well. I encourage you to invest in the suggested supplies, if appropriate. And, make this as easy as possible, which may mean using whatever you have on hand.
Format
We will meet on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 1:00pm-4:00pm (central time) via Zoom. Upon paid registration, you will receive the Zoom link to join in, as well as a reminder sent the morning of the event. This session is intended to be experienced live -- please keep this in mind as you discern whether to register as it will not be recorded.

If you want to be the author of your own story, this is for you. If you are interested in self-exploration and are curious about the creative process and what can be transformed through inquiry and discovery, this is for you. This creative experience is open to anyone who wants to explore their stories of belonging -- within themselves, with their family and friends, with the roles they play, with their place in the world -- to discover where there may be space to write a new story of belonging, wholly unique to them.
No previous background with writing or painting is required to join us – just a willingness to explore your own experience. Be free to take only what resonates for you and leave the rest.
As you tend the call of the heart and soul for more engaged living, you come to be more at home within yourself.
Fine Print: By joining this gathering, you understand that the guidance and creative process offered is not a replacement for therapy or professional mental health support. If you have questions about whether this is for you, please feel free to contact me.
Intention
My vision is a world in which we each become more acquainted and friendly with the deepest parts ourselves, and as we tap that well of inner wisdom, to know ourselves as connected, resilient, and compassionate within and without. From this place, I believe we are best able to engage ourselves and our fellow travelers with kindness and love through all of the twists and turns of life. My creative offerings are one way I am called to foster this playful spirit in the world. I wholeheartedly welcome you to join me in the adventure!
