Your journey into the transition of death is a sacred one.
Like birth, death is a celebration of life.
As a soul, we don't require special skills to be born. We instinctively know how to transition from the Other Side to life in this human body. We know how to leave there to embark on this new adventure. We know how to let go into the arms of those waiting for us. We know how to take our first breath. We know how to be celebrated and nourished and deeply loved through our transition.
We don't require special skills to die, either. Our soul instinctively knows how to transition from life in this human body to the Other Side. We need only remember how to leave here to embark on the adventure of returning there. We need only remember how to let go into the arms of those waiting for us. We need only remember how to release our body with our last breath. We need only remember how to allow ourselves to be celebrated and nourished and deeply loved through our transition.
My focus is on helping people reconnect with the sacred simplicity of the soul's journey across the threshold, living fully into the last breath, and beyond.
Simple doesn't necessarily mean easy. We have attachments and have made promises. We have a will that sometimes refuses to acknowledge what is happening, and frankly, refuses to let the body go. Our heart is deeply invested in the life we've made, in the experiences of life we love, in the people we've built our life around. Understandably, when the call comes to depart, most of us will resist it.
And yet, the soul -- and its timing -- is at the helm.
Herein lies the gap between what is, and the way we want things to be. When we consciously tend that gap, when we use the time left us to explore the opportunities being offered through our body's experience of life-limiting illness, there exists the possibility of living that time more fully, intimately connected with what is most important. Even in the face of death.
I believe in the soul and its wisdom.
I believe that each of us has a deep longing for its guidance.
I believe that in the noisy chaos of being human, we've forgotten how to listen for and hear the guidance the soul has to offer.
I believe that my purpose is to companion those approaching the threshold of death in their remembering.
Are you or someone you love experiencing illness, with or without a current terminal diagnosis? Are you curious about living authentically through illness, the last breath, and beyond?
What do you want the time remaining to you to look like? To feel like? Would you like to spend it consciously engaging the experience being offered you, reconnecting to your innate knowing that despite the inevitable fear of the unknown, you know how to do this?
It’s all about identifying the possibilities inherent in holding both what is actually happening for you moment-to-moment, alongside the very real desire to survive it for as long as possible.
You are more divinely connected and supported than you can possibly imagine. Your soul knows what it needs to live into fullness now, and for a peaceful transition. Curiosity and engagement, as well as creative and compassionate guidance, will help you access your inner truth and enable your way forward to unfold in direct alignment with your soul's purpose.
It is in choosing to come into deep relationship with whatever arises as you prepare for your journey across the threshold that peace of soul and mind are made possible.
We can do it together.

"The soul needs meaning as much as the body needs food."

Christy Moe Marek
I am a soul companion and healer who lovingly and openheartedly guides the dying and those who love and support them to deeply connect with the unique possibilities and opportunities that arise from consciously engaging the threshold between life and death.
I am certified as an Anamcara End of Life Practitioner, as an End of Life Doula, as a Meditation Instructor, and as an Intentional Creativity Guide. I joyfully incorporate this training and my extensive experience with yoga, qi gong, reiki, shamanism, intuitive creative practices, and sacred storytelling to help those I work with to listen for their soul's deepest knowing, accessing meaning, purpose, and inner truth along the way.
An avid hiker, outdoorswoman, meditator, animal lover, and tree hugger, I have learned to connect with and surrender to the wisdom and guidance of the elemental world, allowing it to inform my experience of the sacredness of the human journey, and its place in the larger context of the creative cycles of the soul.

End of Life Doula
In my practice as an End of Life Doula (a.k.a. Death Doula, Soul Midwife), I celebrate the invitation offered to the dying to intuitively engage with and lovingly explore the mysterious process of the soul's unfolding before, during, and after death.
Anamcara
The word Anamcara is translated from the ancient Gaelic as "soul friend". As an Anamcara, I serve as a spiritual midwife, companioning and guiding individuals across the threshold of death, from this world into the Next, and beyond.
Sacred Story Whisperer
Our stories are sacred, each one woven together into a mystical tapestry of depth and meaning reflecting the whole of our life experience. As a writer and storyteller, I tap into the power of story to delight, to connect, to reframe perspective, and to heal.
"As kids we believed that the angels talked.
Everything is magic till we think it's not.
It's easy to be thankful for the things you've got.
It takes guts to give thanks for the things you've lost."
~Cloud Cult, from the song "No Hell"
'Let Joy Flow': A dying woman's wish
KARE11 News followed me with one of my clients to shine a light on the importance and value of the role of Death Doula, demonstrating one inspiring example of how the services I provide support individuals as they live fully into the end of their physical lives.
"The dead are not distant or absent. They are alongside us. When we lose someone to death, we lose their physical image and presence, they slip out of visible form into invisible presence. This alteration of form is the reason we cannot see the dead. But because we cannot see them does not mean that they are not there."
~John O'Donohue
"If we can try to stay engaged [as we face death], there's a lot of living to do."

"When death comes...I want to step through the door full of curiosity,
wondering: what is it going to be like, that cottage of darkness?...
When it's over, I want to say all my life
I was a bride married to amazement.
I was the bridegroom, taking life into my arms."
~Mary Oliver, from When Death Comes
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
KIND WORDS FROM MY LOVELY CLIENTS
"I'm working with Christy and she is truly comforting and so resourceful while I plan my legacy. She's suggested ideas I never would have thought about, plants the seeds. I feel reassured with Christy's guidance, knowing that things will be in place and I will be at peace before I leave this earth."
"From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. You help me get clear about a lot of things in my life. I get to say what dying is really like and you understand. I appreciate the opportunity to be with what is happening to me, even when it is hard for others."

Let's work together
None of us has a map to the Next Place. But you need not be alone or feel adrift on the journey. Together, we can uncover your sacred soul-wisdom and find your way to a beautiful, peaceful, and meaningful return Home. I would be honored to companion you along the way.
If you'd like to discuss how this approach would benefit you and how we can work together, I invite you to reach out for a free conversation so we can explore the opportunities in your path and how I am able to support you in engaging them.
I look forward to hearing from you.
